Cindy J. Antonich: To be the voice of the people of 2nd ward. Looking at the needs for all the people in Wellington is important to me. I will continue to hold down spending.
Cindy J. Antonich: I owned and operated my own business for 32 years. I have owned a home in Wellington for 35 years. I look at running a City the same as running a home or business. Needs first, and then the wants. I am currently the 2nd ward City Council Member.
Cindy J. Antonich: The decline of the City's infrastructure is a major concern. Flooding problems, bad streets, water lines, decaying bridges are at the top of my list. I will continue to push for needed infrastructure first.
Cindy J. Antonich: I am still trying to get a Casino at the Wellington Exit 19. This would bring much needed funds to our City and County. I have been active in letter writing campaigns & forums for a Casino.
Cindy J. Antonich: I believe that Government should be open, even more than it is today. To many people believe Government is run behind closed doors.

Paula Gill: Hometown spirit and a willingness to better serve my community. As a life long resident of Wellington, I remember the days when you could not find a place to park on a thriving main street. The City has made great strides in revitalizing our town and I wish to continue with this trend. Running for this position is my way of saying, "I care about Wellington and of giving back to a community that has given me so much."
Paula Gill: I have real life experience in performing functions like those of the city council. The council's primary duties as a governing body are to set policy and oversee the budget process. I gained valuable knowledge on these when I served on the school board. As a co-owner of a small business for 25 years, these same duties are performed in addition to those of management and public relations. These experiences qualify me as a candidate and would enable me to be an asset to the council.
Paula Gill: I think the biggest issue facing our city may be the budget for 2010. The council, city manager and department heads will have the daunting task of distributing available resources. Justifying and prioritizing expenditures will be crucial. Some projects may have to be put on hold and or be modified significantly to make sure all departments remain afloat and no lay offs take place.
Paula Gill: Growth. If Wellington is to grow, with or without a casino, we need to have the necessary infrastructure to do so. Developers and businesses will be more attracted to our town if we can say, "Yes we can" instead of "Give us some time'.

If elected I will support and entrust the city manager and his departments heads to do the job they were hired to do. Council should not micromanage.
Paula Gill: If there was more transparency in government we might not be in the financial mess we are in right now as a country. Open records, meetings and more transparency can help prevent hidden agendas and bad policy. We are extremely fortunate in our community that the city council meetings are televised on our local station and council actions published in our local paper.
